The foundry produces manually moulded castings for one-off and repeated orders in volumes from tens to about 5,000 pieces/year. For standard casting dimensions, the furan self-supporting form is principally used as flask-less; moulding flasks 400 x 400 or 600 x 600 are used for larger and heavier castings. Castings requiring larger mould sizes cannot be offered. Recommended maximum casting weight is 15 kg.

Usually, these castings are intended as verification or low-volume (pre-production) supplies for customers for combustion engines, compressors, turbo-chargers, car parts, handling equipment, and agricultural machines. However, they can be used in all repair branches, in the production of spare part copies, for overhauling of machines and equipment and many more.

The design and production of wooden, resin, metal or combined patterns and core-boxes is provided by the Iron foundry division in co-operation with the Tool shop division of ČZ a.s. or in co-operation with external suppliers. Tools provided by the customer are ordinarily used. Repairs and adjustments necessary for the moulding technology used are a standard part of our customer services.

Upon agreement with the customer, machining of castings can be provided in co-operation with other divisions of ČZ a.s. or with external contractors. We carry out annealing of cast iron casts. Upon customer request, certificates are issued for the castings (general certificates or for individual supplies). Modern sand, chemical and metallographical laboratory equipment is used for the inspection and evaluation of input raw materials, production processes and castings. The laboratories have available e.g. DV4 spectrometer from BAIRD, carbon and sulphur fast-analyser from LECO, metallographic microscopes, hardness-testers etc.
